Properties:

The three BCAA’s are leucine, isoleucine and valine – commonly supplied in the ratio 2:1:1. BCAA’s have to be obtained in the diet to meet the body’s branched chain amino acid requirements for protein synthesis.
BCAA’s may also help reduce fatigue and aid recovery after exercise. They are water soluble, process stable and with a slightly bitter flavour.

Applications:

Sports drinks and ‘shaker’ powder blends containing BCAA’s, designed to help build and repair muscle after exercise. The ‘instant’ type of BCAA blend is preferred for shaker drinks.
